Here’s what is on our agenda this week:

Math: we’re studying perimeter and area, as well as reviewing linear measurement for our test that will be next week.

Science: we’re completing out class science fair project, which is trying to solve the ant problem in our outdoor classroom! After we complete the project we’ll be starting our investigations of the planets.

Writing: the students will be continuing to write poetry (stay tuned for an invitation to our classroom on February 3rd, the students will be having a poetry reading celebration in class!)

Reading: to compliment our studies in writing poetry, this week we’ll be studying inferences, similes, metaphors, and reading fluency all with poetry.

Important dates:

Saturday, January 28th: The Garden Party!

Wednesday, February 1st: Early Release

Comic Creator

Here is a link to Read Write Think’s Comic Creator. It’s fairly simple to navigate and is awesome for summarizing or sequencing a story. It’s also pretty awesome for creating students’ very own story.

Enjoy.
